Kevin McQuillan is co-founder of Focus Ventures and general partner of Focus Opportunity Fund.
He has spent more than 30 years focusing on investments in the software, storage, and Internet and communication markets. He led Focus Ventures’ investments in numerous companies, resulting in 18 IPOs and acquisitions by PayPal, Dell, Microsoft, and IBM. He initially became involved in the investment industry as director of investments for Equitec Financial Group and subsequently held positions at Dominion Ventures and Comdisco Ventures before establishing Focus Ventures in 1997.
McQuillan was ranked No. 46 on Forbes magazine’s 2011 Midas list of top technology investors and has been cited on AlwaysOn’s VC 100 list and the Power Players West list.
In addition to his undergraduate degree in business administration, he holds both an MBA and JD, and he was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University.
