Foundry Innovation Challenge
On Thursday, April 27, the inaugural EY Innovation Challenge was held at the EY Innovation Center in Union Square. Sponsored by EY’s Americas Tax Innovation Foundry, the challenge brought together Gabelli School undergraduate students, graduate students in the MS Tax program, and the Fordham Foundry.
Seven teams presented business ideas on tax and fintech-related ideas, including a blockchain system for VAT taxes, a machine-reading program for reviewing contracts, a green tax credit trading system, and a personal financial management app for individuals with student debt.
The judges were four senior EY personnel, who awarded winning prizes of $1,000 to the undergraduate team of Michaela Moody, Joseph Reed, and Kirina Patel, and the graduate team of Ying Su, Yiying Li, Kaweier Zhao, Yijie Sun, Yawen Duan, and Xinyi Feng.
Congratulations to all who participated!
