Exploring Entrepreneurship

Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business invites high school juniors and seniors to explore entrepreneurship at the Foundry!

During one focused week, you will work with talented, committed peers to develop a new business idea and pitch it to a panel of start-up experts and entrepreneurs. You will visit a startup incubator to experience what the startup environment is like. You might even discover how you can help change the world.

Your Schedule

Monday, June 23rd

9 AM - 4:30 PM EST

Introduction to each other and the Fordham Foundry, followed by a short breakdown of entrepreneurship and first steps of starting a business. On Monday, we’ll brainstorm business ideas and form our teams for the rest of the week. Make sure to come with some ideas!

Tuesday, June 24th

9 PM - 4:30 PM EST

Presentation on financing strategies and customer discovery. On this day, you’ll be able to talk to real customers on and off campus and engage in market research for your business idea!

Wednesday, June 25th

9 AM - 4:30 PM EST

Presentation on MVP and Prototyping, followed by hands-on group breakout sessions.

Thursday, June 26th

9 AM - 4:30 PM EST

Field Trip to the EY Foundry, where you’ll be able to connect with the EY team and get advice on your pitches and venture. After, we’ll head back to LC, where you’ll get a tour of the campus and get free time to work with your team to finalize your pitch deck.

Friday, June 26th

9 AM - 4:30 PM EST

Our final day starts with practicing your pitch with your team, followed by short programming, and finally, you’ll be able to showcase everything you built during this week by presenting in front of real business professionals in a pitch competition!
